GRAPHIC DESIGN
GILDED DREAMS is a self-initiated project that draws inspiration from Eliud Kipchoge's remarkable achievement of running a marathon in under 2 hours. On October 12, 2019, Kipchoge participated in the INEOS 1:59 Challenge, a specially organized event in Vienna, Austria, where he completed the marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers (26.219 miles) in an incredible time of 1 hour, 59 minutes, and 40.2 seconds. This historic moment in the world of athletics marked him as the first person to break the 2 hour wall.

The essence of this short editorial project lies in paying homage to the obsession of athletes to strive for the coveted gold medal. Gold, in its physical form as jewelry, is often worn by athletes during their performances. This act can be seen as a superstitious challenge, almost as if they are daring the actual gold medal they are competing for.

An essay exploring the most abundant man made material on Earth: Concrete.
The skeleton of the Modern World.

Since its invention, concrete has gained global popularity for small, medium and large scale projects. Today, overproduction of concrete is one of the main causes of environmental damage connected with CO2 emissions and extraction of natural resources.

During a time in which designers are asked to come up with solutions to show a more sustainable and responsible way of bringing new things to the markets, this essay is an attempt at understanding what is this controversial material and how it brought us into the crisis we’re in today. But most of all, what are the possible alternatives that could pave the way for a more sustainable future?
